Nearly a week after our humble nest returned to its default empty state, we’re still exhausted, but unquestionably richer for the experience. Four generations were present. My eldest daughter and her family were in town from Kenya, while my parents were visiting from Florida. I took last week off and spent as much time as possible with everyone, including my youngest son and daughter, who live about 40 minutes away. It’s hard to believe it wasn’t the entire gang, but two sons, a daughter-in-law and granddaughter from New York weren’t able to make the trip. I’m hoping we can get all five children – and by then eight grandchildren – together before the Witt tribe returns to Africa in August.
