It was a comedy open mic, and most of the participants were very nervous. Many had never been on stage before. One of them paced alone in a corner behind the curtain, wearing a costume that would guarantee the attention of everyone in the crowd. He was dressed as Alexander Hamilton.
“Knock knock,” he asked the audience.
“Who’s there?” replied the enthusiastic crowd.
“Aaron Burr who?”
“Precisely!” he shouted, suddenly thrust into another gear. “Who does this unmitigated cad think he is to challenge me to a duel?”
